Help for those with financial strain or worries

If you are feeling stressed or anxious about your finances, there is help and advice available so please do not worry. Angus Council provide a Welfare rights service which provides free, independent and confidential advice on benefits and debt options for people living in Angus. The service includes: helping you to challenge benefit decisions, completing forms, helping you resolve benefit problems, homelessness issues, helping you to get all the benefits you are entitled to, debt advice and options (including rent and mortgage arrears), providing advice on welfare reform issues, assisting with charitable and benevolent fund applications.

The Welfare Rights Service can also provide training and informal talks to local groups and voluntary organisations in issues relating to benefits. The Welfare rights service also work in co-operation with Macmillan Cancer Support and the Scottish Legal Aid Board to provide benefit and debt advice.
