Headway is a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. Through a range of front-line services run from its Nottingham base, and via a network of more than 100 groups and branches across the UK, it provides support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers, as well as to professionals. There is a Tayside group that meet in Dundee who run support groups and organise events and outings for people with brain injuries, as well as for their carers and families. Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland also provide information and support to people and their families who are affected by chest, heart and stroke illness. You can find out more information about this organisation and the local supports available in Angus by visiting https://www.chss.org.uk/ The Physical Disability Community Opportunity team are a community team able to work with adults of all ages who have short term goals that they need assistance with to enable them greater independence either in their home or in accessing the community setting. The team can work with people free of charge for up to 12 weeks and can tailor the support to individuals.
